NEWS from B-PEN (Brookline Parent Education Network) for Middle School Parents
September 2011 update
B-PEN WELCOMES ALL PARENTS BACK TO SCHOOL!
Though the 2011-12 school year is well under way, kids may still be having a little trouble transitioning from those lazy, unstructured days of summer to the faster paced and demanding life of school. Middle schoolers especially can be challenged by changing classes/teachers and increased academic expectations.
For ideas on helping your child through this transition, check out Brookline Parent Education Network’s special newsletter on “Teen Transitions.” And consider forming a Parent Network. Informal gatherings of parents from your child’s grade can offer excellent opportunities for support and insight. Visit our website at www.B-PEN.org for tips on starting and maintaining a Parent Network at your school.
