PTO STAFF SUPPORT GRANTS
To welcome Baker teaching staff back to school and to show our appreciation for all that staff members do for our children, the PTO provides $200 to classroom teachers. Other staff members receive a calculated portion of $200 based on their FTE. (An example of FTE calculation: a Baker .2 time staff member = $200 x .2) Allocation of the Teaching Staff Support Grants are to be used by teachers to fund educational materials/programs.
For classroom teachers NEW to Baker School, we offer an additional $350 reimbursement for classroom supplies (including appropriate books for classroom libraries). For specialist teachers NEW to Baker School, we offer up to $200 reimbursement for classroom supplies. For classroom teachers new to their grade level, but previously a Baker classroom teacher in another grade, we offer an additional $200 for grade level classroom supplies (including appropriate books for classroom libraries).
The Brookline Public School Department has requested that all district PTOs use a receipt -based grants process. This means that all staff members must submit receipts for reimbursements instead of receiving a check for the seed amount, as in previous years. The Baker PTO asks that all Staff Support expenses include ALL supporting receipts.
To Be Reimbursed:
The Baker PTO Reimbursement Form is available for download online at bakerschoolpto.org, under the TEACHER tab. Reimbursement checks will be cut no later than 2 weeks after receipt of request. Reimbursement payment checks from the PTO will be put in the staff member’s mailbox, unless otherwise requested.
PTO GRADE LEVEL GRANTS
Grade Level Grants can be used for grade level educational enrichment. Grade Levels (K-8) are each allocated $800-$1,000 per year (depending on section numbers) in available grant funding. Grant monies can be requested throughout the school year, from the first day of school in September, up until June 1st. For Grade Level Grants that exceed the $800-$1,000 per year, additional grant monies may be made available from General Pool Grants.
