Name of Committee: Baker Site Council
Meeting Date: May 13, 2015 Time: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Meeting Location: Baker School
Members Present:
X Emily Engeland X Sonia Schneider
X Timothy Sullivan
Staff Present and Participating: Dr. Mary, Brown, Denrod Fowler, Paula Ewenstein, Susan Balogh, Laura Richardson
Discussion about site council for next year and the number of parent representatives and appropriate staff representation. Dr. Brown noted it would be important to have appropriate grade representation relative to the parents on site council.
There was a discussion about the dress code, noting it applied only to grades 6-8.
It was discussed that no class lists would distributed this year by the district, and only the student’s teacher for next year would be sent home. This was a decision by the district, and not by Baker, and reflected privacy concerns. Dr. Brown noted that for a smaller number of students who may be negatively impacted by the uncertainty of teacher next year, Baker would accommodate the student on the last day of school. There was a discussion about the relative benefits and detriments of this decision.
There was a review and discussion about recent communications from Baker.
There was a discussion about the School Improvement Plan and goals for the remainder of the year.
