The duties of a RP depend on the individual teacher. In the early years there are lots of fun ways the room parents contribute to the classroom. There are plenty of events to help organize and sign-up sheets to be created. You will be your classroom teacher's go-to gal or guy. As your children get older, the room parent's duties lessen a bit. Your main responsibilities are helping your teacher organize a class email distribution list and utilizing that list if your teacher requires help or you want to set up a class party, gift, etc. The best thing about being a Room Parent is it keeps you active in the Baker Community and gives you a great opportunity to meet the other families within your class (even if it is mostly through email :-). If you have questions about becoming a room parent please email [email protected].
Please note, Room Parents are selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Thanks for your understanding. |
